  2. Class II: Offers both personnel, product, and environmental protection. These are the most commonly used in cell culture and come in four types (A1, A2, B1, B2), each with specific airflow and exhaust requirements.
  3. Class III: Also known as glove boxes, these provide the highest level of protection. They are completely sealed, and the user works with the samples through gloves attached to the cabinet.

  • Proper Use: Always follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your specific cabinet, including correct startup, operation, and shutdown protocols.
  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the cabinet with appropriate disinfectants before and after use.
  • Maintenance: Periodically check and replace HEPA filters, and ensure that the airflow system is functioning correctly. Calibration and certification should be done annually or as required by institutional policies.
