Compressed Air Shower

A Compressed Air Shower is a personnel or material decontamination booth that uses pressurized air jets to blow loose dust, fibers, and particles off garments, PPE, tools, or components before entry into—or exit from—a controlled area. It differs from a conventional cleanroom air shower, which typically uses filtered recirculated air rather than a plant compressed-air supply.

How it works

  1. The user enters an enclosed chamber and closes the interlocked door.
  2. Nozzles direct controlled high-velocity air over the body or object, usually from top to bottom.

  3. Dislodged particles are captured by extraction/filtration rather than being released into the room.

  4. After a set cycle—often around 15–30 seconds—the exit door unlocks.

  5. Typical applications

    • Pharmaceutical, biotech, and electronics cleanroom entryways.

    • Paint shops, powder-coating, and industrial maintenance areas.

    • Foundries, mining, cement, and high-dust manufacturing.

    • Decontamination before workers leave dusty or hazardous work zones.
